MILTON & SMALL


Milton & Small is the brainchild of two scrappy graduate students who jumped into a category that didn’t even exist yet. With no marketing budget, the packaging had to be irresistible enough that grocers would give them coveted shelf space.  
Using a distinctive apothecary bottle shape and original Italian artwork from the seventeenth century (thank you, University of Penn Library), this product not only grabbed peoples’ attention on the shelf; it was something they’d intentionally leave out on their kitchen counters for guests to see. It went on to receive an Award of Excellence in Communication Arts Design Annual.
