MCEVOY RANCH

McEvoy Ranch was a personal project of Nan McEvoy, a well known San Francisco philanthropist and DeYoung descendant, the family who founded the San Francisco Chronicle. Nan was never the sort to do anything halfway: she spared no expense importing the very first olive trees directly from Tuscany. Today, McEvoy Ranch is recognized as one of the best olive oils you can buy, with ridiculously high polyphenols and health benefits that are off the charts.
When Nan’s son Nian took the helm, it was important to him that the brand preserve Nan’s sense of mission and dedication to land stewardship. What struck me as equally significant to the evolution of the brand’s look was somehow including his passion for story and previous career as CEO/Owner of Chronicle Books. His literary background led to an elegant yet playful visual language that suggested the world of books and deep knowledge.
